Investigators with the Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau sought help from the public Friday in identifying a man who stabbed another passenger on a Metro bus in Monterey Park.

Surveillance cameras aboard Metro Bus Line 260 captured the Nov. 3. assault, and still images from the video were released to the public in an effort to identify the alleged attacker, according to a department statement.

Investigators said the video shows the attacker and the victim entering the bus at the same time before the 7 p.m. incident. At some point, detectives said, the man got up and stabbed the victim in the throat with a knife or some other sharp object before fleeing from the bus.
