LAPD probes reported kidnapping attempt at elementary school
Los Angeles police late Wednesday went to a North Hollywood elementary school after a 10-year-old girl told officials that a man had tried to kidnap her, authorities said.
The girl was apparently involved in an after-school program at Coldwater Canyon Elementary School when she said a man tried to grab her from behind as she walked to a restroom, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“Somehow this girl got away … and told the principal,” Officer Gregory Baek said.
He said the incident was reported shortly before 6 p.m. and that investigators were at the school trying to piece together what happened.
“The kid does not have any description other than it was a man,” Baek said.
No additional details were immediately available.
