Jimmy Rollins, who started for the Dodgers at shortstop for most of last season until being replaced by Corey Seager, agreed to a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.

In his only season with the Dodgers, Rollins batted .224 with 13 home runs and 41 runs batted in. He was fifth among NL shortstops with a .983 fielding percentage.

Rollins, 37, figures to get a chance to win the starting job; Tyler Saladino played only 11 games at shortstop as a rookie last season. Chicago is trying to replace Alexei Ramirez, who signed with the San Diego Padres.

Outfielder Jeff Francoeur agreed to a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves and will report to big league spring training. A 32-year-old Atlanta native, Francouer started his career with the Braves in 2005, making a huge splash as a rookie but failing to become the star many projected. He was traded to the New York Mets in 2009 and bounced around to five teams before returning to his original organization.
