National signing day: UCLA gets DBs Adarius Pickett, Denzel Fisher
Adarius Pickett, a cornerback from El Cerrito High, and Denzel Fisher, a defensive back from Compton Centennial, have signed a letters of intent with UCLA.
Pickett, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds, is one of the jewels of the Bruins’ recruiting class. He is ranked 184th on the ESPN list of the top 300 high school players.
He also played running back, gaining more than 1,800 yards as a senior.
Fisher, at 6-foot-2, is not blessed with blazing speed, but he has the type of length that can make him effective in coverage. He was also a offered scholarship by USC and made visits to Washington and Utah.
