New superfood cafes opening in L.A. area — with DIY porridge

Share

In sunny Southern California, nothing says the holidays like a new superfood cafe. Beaming, an organic, superfood cafe from San Diego, is opening locations in Brentwood on Monday, and in Santa Monica on Dec. 15. The cafe is known for its cold pressed juices, superfood smoothies and plant-based foods.

While the Brentwood location will be more of a grab-and-go operation, the Santa Monica outlet will offer more seating, cooking classes and a build-your-own superfood trail mix and granola bar. And if you’re into porridge, they’ll have a bar for that too.

On the menu at both locations: salads, soups, snacks and bowls highlighting plenty of superfoods including walnuts, almonds, chia, hempseed, coconut, berries, spinach, kale, maca, spirulina, chlorella, goji berries and more.

There will also be a selection of dairy-free, gluten-free baked goods. Think chocolate chip banana bread, carrot muffins, almond butter chocolate chip cookies and vegan gelato almond chocolate chip cookie sandwiches.

The brand is also known for founder Lisa Odenweller’s cleanse programs, which include superfood snacks, soups, salads and smoothies in addition to juices.

Beaming also plans to open locations in West Hollywood in March and in Newport Beach by next summer.
