If the city’s hottest chefs and mixologists are your idea of great dinner dates, be sure to check out this year’s “Dinner with a Twist” event during Los Angeles Times’ the Taste on Saturday. It’s an evening full of cooking and mixology demonstrations with plenty of cocktails and small bites.

To keep the libations flowing throughout the evening, there will be a pop-up bar hosted by the Church Key’s Devon Espinosa and another by SoHo House’s James Bowers, presented by Veev.

At 8:30 p.m., there’s a cooking and mixology demonstration by Daniel Joly, chef and owner of Mirabelle at Beaver Creek, or you can head to the Taste Bar Stage at 8:45p.m. for a Salts and Sugars presentation of alternative products and applications featuring Tricia Carr.

Ricardo Zarate, chef at Mo-chica, Picca and Paiche takes the Citi Culinary Stage later that evening for his own cooking and mixology demonstration with Deysi Alvarez. Then Michael Hung and Michael Lay of downtown’s new Faith & Flower present their take on food and cocktails.

And you won’t want to miss a series of mixology demonstrations by Alex Day and Devon Tarby of Honeycut/Proprietors LLC, Max Seaman and Mikki Kristola from the Varnish, and Naomi Schimek from the Spare Room.

The evening ends with more libations and small bites by John Sedlar and Julian Cox from Rivera. And if you can’t get enough cocktails, you can attend an exclusive pre-event with imaginative cocktail creations during the Cocktail Lab.

The event is from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Paramount Pictures Studios. Tickets are $125 ($100 for L.A. Times members), and are available online. The Cocktail Lab upgrade is an additional $50. Ticket price includes food, beer, wine and spirits tastings, plus access to demos and presentations.
