Clint Skein scored on a head-first slide in the seventh inning to score the winning run for the host Bulldogs (2-0). Skein, who had a double in the inning, was on second with the bases loaded and one out, when the first baseman couldn’t handle a dribbler, allowing two runs to score. Skein also pitched two innings of scoreless relief, allowing two hits but striking out two, to pick up the victory. Westlake falls to 0-2.

Michael Trump threw a four-hitter, striking out seven, to earn the victory for the host Mounties (1-1). Daren Kagafoff had two hits, including a sixth-inning single that drove in two runs to give Montclair Prep the lead. Malibu falls to 1-1.

Brandon Cunniff and Brent King combined on a two-hit shutout for Los Osos (2-1) in the second game of the doubleheader. Michael Anderson had three hits and scored a run for Los Osos in the victory. In the first game, sophomore Chris Parnelee had a shut out with six strike outs for Chino Hills (2-1).

Corona Santiago 12-5, Alta Loma 8-4 (2nd game, 8 innings)
In the first game of the doubleheader, winning pitcher Jacob Medina hit a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth to drive in the winning run for host Corona Santiago (2-1). Alta Loma is 1-2. Ian Hollick and Dan Contreras each hit a three-run homerun to overcome a 8-0 deficit for host Corona Santiago in the second game.

La Salle 4-5, Cathedral 3-3
Dan Sulzinger went two for two with two RBIs and two stolen bases in the first game of the doubleheader for La Salle (2-0). Matt Merril went three for four with two RBIs in the second game for Cathedral (0-2).

Oxford Academy 17-14, Avalon 5-0
In the first game, returing all-CIF first team player senior Ryan Bedard had two homeruns and two stolen bases and senior Robert Thompson went five for six with four stolen bases to lift visiting Oxford Academy (1-0). In the second game, junior Christian Florido pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in four innings for visiting Oxford Academy (2-0).

Carl Phillips had two hits in each game, including a home run in the second game, for visiting Pacific (2-1). Indio is 0-2.

San Bernardino had 33 hits, including six doubles and a triple, and got two complete-game pitching performances in sweeping the doubleheader. Mario Rivera, who went six for nine at the plate on the day, threw a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the opener. Edward Hoover threw a seven-hitter with nine strikeouts in the second game. Jeff Bowden and Greg Torres each went five for eight on the day, with Torres driving in five runs.

Brandon Gill, on the day, went five for seven with eight RBIs and three doubles for host San Gorgonio (3-0). Banning is 0-2.

Erick Jones scored the winning run on a balk in the top of the 11th inning of the first game and the Saints (2-0) scored seven runs in the fifth inning to erase a 4-1 deficit in the second game.
