Lakers’ Week 25 in review

The Lakers finished Week 25, and the 2014-15 season, with a pair of losses to the Sacramento Kings and a 21-61 record -- the worst winning percentage in franchise history.

Week 24 ended with a 120-106 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Kobe Bryant and Dallas point guard Rajon Rondo did not connect for another breakfast meeting.

The Lakers added guard Vander Blue from the D-Fenders for the team’s final two games. The team lost the first one in Sacramento, 102-92.

Both Jabari Brown and Blue played 48 minutes on Wednesday in the team’s 122-99 loss to the Kings at Staples Center.

The team’s players met with Coach Byron Scott and General Manager Mitch Kupchak for exit interviews.

Jeremy Lin said his relationship with the Lakers improved despite his benching.

Nick Young blamed the rim for his shooting woes. Both Lin and Young said they hope to return to the Lakers next season. Young is under contract, and Lin will be a free agent.

Wesley Johnson looks at free agency as a frustrating process.

Ed Davis, who is expecting to opt out of his contract, could leave the Lakers if another team gives him a more lucrative offer.

Wayne Ellington said he was thankful for the Lakers’ support through his personal tragedy after his father’s slaying.

Veteran guard Ronnie Price said he was happy with his Lakers’ experience despite the team’s losing record. Robert Sacre said the Lakers’ season “was tough.”

Rookie forward/center Tarik Black is just happy to be here.

Rookie Julius Randle leaned on Bryant and Indiana Pacers star Paul George during his rehab from a broken leg.

Carlos Boozer called Jordan Clarkson a “Baby Westbrook,” but the rookie guard is aiming “to be my own player.”

Ryan Kelly wants to improve his shooting over the off-season.

Jordan Hill acknowledged that Scott was disappointed with his season. The team has to decide on his $9-million option for next year.

The Lakers 2015 first-round pick is still up in the air, waiting on the draft lottery in May to learn if they keep their own selection.

The team will get the 27th selection in draft from the Houston Rockets, but with the Clippers’ climb in the standings, the Lakers lost an extra second-round pick.

Duke champion Justise Winslow declared for the draft and may be one of the top prospects.

Kupchak believes the Lakers can be in the “hunt quickly” after another lost season.
