The Rams’ attempt to fortify the roster continues Wednesday with free-agent outside linebacker Connor Barwin and running back Lance Dunbar arriving for visits.

Barwin, 30, played the last four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before he was released last week. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 253-pound Barwin played his first four NFL seasons with the Houston Texans, where Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips coached from 2011 to 2013.

The Rams are looking for linebackers who can fit in Phillips’ 3-4 scheme. They had hoped to meet with Jarvis Jones, but he agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.

Barwin has 50½ career sacks, including five last season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2014, when he had a career-best 14½ sacks.

Dunbar, 27, has rushed for 422 yards in 94 carries in five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

Last season, playing behind rookie Ezekiel Elliott, Dunbar carried only nine times for 31 yards. The previous season, he had five carries for 67 yards.

The Rams, of course, feature running back Todd Gurley.

Benny Cunningham, who backed up Gurley last season, is a free agent. Cunningham performed well as a backup and a kick returner before his season was cut short because of a neck injury.

He rushed for 101 yards and caught 16 passes for 91 yards. He averaged 27.2 yards per kickoff return.
