Football: St. John Bosco begins looking for starting QB
St. John Bosco begins spring football practice on Monday, and the major task for the Braves is coming up with a replacement for quarterback Josh Rosen, now in the running to start as a freshman at UCLA.
Coach Jason Negro has said the competition will go on through the spring and summer.
Last season’s varsity backup, Quentin Davis, starts out as the favorite, because he has the most varsity experience.
But there are quarterbacks from the junior varsity and freshman teams ready to show their stuff.
St. John Bosco has plenty of talent, led by running back Sean McGrew, lineman Wyatt Davis, receiver Anselem Umeh and defensive backs Traveon Beck, Mykal Tolliver and D.J. Morgan.
Finding a quarterback to provide leadership and production on and off the field will be a process months in the making.
