Two firefighters were injured Thursday afternoon while battling a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest, officials said.

The blaze, named the Shoemaker fire, had burned about 65 acres near the San Gabriel River Ranger District by Thursday evening.

The fire was about 5% contained, said John Wagner, a spokesman for the Angeles National Forest.
