Tweeting with the Lakers: A symbolic handle for a money player?

The Lakers use Twitter for different reasons.

Metta World Peace invites people to midnight movie screenings. Pau Gasol transmits his thoughts on “Game of Thrones” episodes. Kobe Bryant avoids it completely.

Then there’s Devin Ebanks.

He recently switched his Twitter handle from his name to A$AP Ebank$. It coincided with his rise in responsibilities while Bryant was sidelined by a sore shin.

Maybe Ebanks thought he was becoming a money player. Maybe he was looking forward to the July free-agency period. Maybe he liked rapper A$AP Rocky.

“Just changed it for the heck of it,” Ebanks said. “No real reason for it.”

Fine. I’m changing mine to Mike_Bre$nahan. Just for the heck of it. No real reason.

Q&A of the day

Q: My nephew from Australia will be in L.A. May 25-28. Will there be any pro games playing at that time? If so, who’s playing, location, date, etc.

Final thought

There’s no way the Lakers lose this series. Zero chance.

But they will lose Game 3. George Karl seemed a little too upbeat after the Nuggets lost Game 2. And the Lakers showed they hadn’t ditched their regular-season habit of losing large leads.
