San Clemente isn't just the top team in Southern California right now. The Tritons (12-0) might be No. 1 in the nation in prep baseball.

They won the prestigious National High School Invitational on Saturday, defeating Pleasant Hill College Park, 8-3, in the championship game in Cary, N.C.

San Clemente's outstanding pitching depth was on display once again. Tanner Lawson threw 4 1/3 innings and Dylan Riddle followed with 2 2/3 innings scoreless relief.

Connor Sealey and Chris Puckett each had two hits and two RBI.

San Clemente is ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division II.

Huntington Beach finished 3-1 in the tournament with an 11-2 win over Georgia Whitewater. Cooper Moore and Tyler Murray each had three hits.

JSerra went 3-1 after a 5-3 win over DeSoto Central.
