Palisades is part of the toughest league in the City Section, the Western League, so every win outside of league is a must.

In its season basketball opener on Friday, Joseph Robinson scored 20 points and point guard Shane Williams added 16 points in a 71-65 victory over Rancho Dominguez.

Palisades rallied after a slow start.

North Hollywood defeated Franklin, 59-54. Sean Fernandez scored 22 points and Alex Walker added 19.
