Football: San Fernando is ready to begin life after Cristian Solano
It’s tough replacing a quarterback who led the team to consecutive City Section Division II championships and passed for 4,102 yards his senior year.
But San Fernando is moving forward without Cristian Solano, who has joined the team as an assistant coach while he awaits to enroll at Nevada.
His successor at quarterback is senior Robert Gonzalez.
“Every day, he’s been getting better,” Coach Robert Garcia said. “He’s got a good arm.”
The Tigers return running back Alex Gonzalez, who played extensively as a freshman, along with receivers Ronal Munoz and Oscar Salazar and a veteran offensive line.
It all means that you better not underestimate the Tigers even though Solano has graduated.
“We’re going to surprise a lot of people,” Garcia said.
