Memories from John Wooden’s summer camps are revived in book, ‘Camp Wooden’

Former Canyon Country Canyon basketball Coach Greg Hayes has written a book, “Camp Wooden” now available on Amazon about his time as a counselor and coach at legendary UCLA basketball Coach John Wooden’s summer camps.

The book is written from the perspective of a fictional week spent at the camp.

Hayes said he had 12 years of lunches and dinners with Wooden at the camps and took notes.

“It’s an incredible legacy, with tens of thousands of campers he influenced,” Hayes said. “It was really fun to do.”
