Taft fans are facing choice between volleyball and football

Share

Thursday night at 7 o’clock is going to be quite a night for Taft sports fans.

The girls’ volleyball team is hosting Granada Hills in a match for the West Valley League championship.

The football team is playing at Birmingham in a game for the West Valley League championship.

At least Taft should be able to set up a TV in the gym for fans to watch football live on Time Warner Cable, right?

“We’re not the Southern Section,” Athletic Director Mark Drucker said.

Maybe former Taft basketball Coach Derrick Taylor, now at St. John Bosco, can loan the Toreadors one of his plasma TVs in his office.

The football game was originally scheduled for Friday, but the schools decided playing on Halloween was not the best of ideas for families.
