2007-10-23 13:23:05.0 wesjoenixon: has kwame improved at all, or too soon to tell?

2007-10-23 13:23:08.0 Brian Kamenetzky: Rico- I agree with AK. Given Kwame's limited health right now, I think Bynum is the way to go.

2007-10-23 13:23:23.0 kazsim: just reminding myself of the worse times as a Laker Fan

2007-10-23 13:23:46.0 Rico: I agree he is the best shot blocker and scorer at that position THKS

2007-10-23 13:24:09.0 Andrew Kamenetzky: Of course, it also depends on who you're starting at the 4. If it's Ronny, that's fine. Kwame, probably okay (even though it leaves them scrapping offensively). But I don't think Mihm at the 4 (as has been bandied about a bit) will work for defensive purposes. On O, they be okay, but outisde of specific matchups, neither Mihm nor Bynum could guard a lot of 4's.

2007-10-23 13:24:17.0 Brian Kamenetzky: wesjoe- Too soon to tell, I think, but I'm not holding my breath. As far as him not being traded, there are two scenarios that make that possible: A) nobody wants him, B) he plays so well he becomes indespensable (sp?) to the team and they can't afford to move him at the deadline.

2007-10-23 13:24:23.0 eagleboy: Does anyone think the Lakers - with a roster very similar to the one that pushed the Suns 2 years ago - if healthy - can be a surprise team?

2007-10-23 13:24:25.0 Brian Kamenetzky: I think the former is more likely.

2007-10-23 13:24:33.0 exhelodrvr: wesjoe, If the Lakers are on fire, they won't want to mess with the chemistry. Otherwise, I think he's gone. If they just let him walk at the end of the season, they get nothing from his contract, because they are too far over the cap.

2007-10-23 13:24:47.0 Andrew Kamenetzky: WesJoe - Well, it's a little known fact, but kwame does own the NBA's other "no trade clause." Him and Kobe. haha

2007-10-23 13:24:49.0 kazsim: eagleboy-yes

2007-10-23 13:25:16.0 hudster: KWAME HAS A NO-TRADE!!!!!!!!!! UNREAL!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB MITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2007-10-23 13:25:40.0 eagleboy: I thought Kobe was the only player in NBA with a no trade clause

2007-10-23 13:25:45.0 Brian Kamenetzky: eagleboy- If you mean a good surprise, like a hot chick popping out of a giant birthday cake or a new iPhone... probably not. Although it does depend a litttle on what you mean by "surprise".../

2007-10-23 13:25:52.0 kazsim: The Lakers can Suprise if they play as a team

2007-10-23 13:25:58.0 wesjoenixon: What kind of *real* value does an expiring contract have these days? How many teams are 8 million over the luxury tax by 9 million dollars

2007-10-23 13:26:08.0 Andrew Kamenetzky: Hudster - Just in case, you're not kidding, to clarify, I was...

2007-10-23 13:26:30.0 hudster: oh man.... you had me real pissed there for a second

2007-10-23 13:26:34.0 Brian Kamenetzky: ...If you mean winning 48 games and maybe sneaking into the second round, sure. That could happen (I don't think it will, though). If you mean WCF or Finals, no.
