Tom Brady has tormented the Steelers, but Ben Roethlisberger wants his jersey anyway
Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t fared too well against Tom Brady throughout his career. But the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback apparently doesn’t hold that against his New England Patriots counterpart.
Before the teams met last Sunday, the two players were caught on camera exchanging pleasantries. Roethlisberger, a two-time Super Bowl champion who was recovering from knee surgery and unable to play in the game, had a request for Brady, a four-time Super Bowl champion.
“Hey, listen,” Roethlisberger said on the clip shown on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL.” “I’ve never done this before, but I would love to get a jersey.”
Brady seemed honored. “Sure,” he said. “I’d love to. Let’s do it. I’ll get you after the game.”
Roethlisberger, who is 2-6 against Brady, added: “There’s not many that I want. I’ll put it in my office.”
Brady went on to help the Patriots beat the Steelers yet again, 27-16, for the ninth time in 11 tries throughout his career.
