The Steelers could be looking for their fourth place-kicker of the season, and it’s only a fourth of the way done.tmpplchld Josh Scobee, acquired for a sixth-round draft choice late in the preseason, missed two of his four field-goal attempts Thursday night, including a 41-yarder with 1:01 remaining. Had Scobee made the kick it would have been a six-point lead for the Steelers. As it was, the Ravens marched down the field to kick the tying field goal at the end of regulation and then won the game in overtime, 23-20.tmpplchld Both of Scobee’s misses came at the end of the Heinz Field that was closed with new seating this year. Wind still whips in from the river, and Scobee said it played a role in both misses.tmpplchld “The last two I played them down the middle and they both moved,” Scobee said. “It’s a tough end to kick because of a little more open area. It’s something that takes experience.”tmpplchld Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was so down on Scobee that in overtime he decided to go for it on fourth-and-1 from the Baltimore 33 rather than attempt a 51-yard field goal.tmpplchld “I wanted to redeem myself,” Scobee said. “I didn’t get it. I understand it. You just have to move on.”tmpplchld Whether the Steelers afford him more opportunities is up for debate. Scobee has missed four of his 10 attempts this season.tmpplchld The Steelers lost veteran kicker Shaun Suisham in the first preseason game. They signed Garrett Hartley to replace him, but Hartley injured a hamstring in a preseason game at Buffalo.tmpplchld Scobee said he can’t worry about the Steelers making another change.tmpplchld “You can’t think about that stuff,” he said. “You just have to let it play out.”tmpplchld ___tmpplchld (c)2015 Pittsburgh Post-Gazettetmpplchld Visit the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette at www.post-gazette.comtmpplchld Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.tmpplchld
