Chris Wondolowski notched his ninth goal of the season and the San Jose Earthquakes scored twice in the second half to beat the Galaxy, 3-1, on Saturday night at Stanford Stadium in the California Clasico.

The loss ended a three-game unbeaten streak for the Galaxy, which was coming off blowout wins over Portland and Philadelphia, 5-0 and 5-1, respectively.

Matias Perez Garcia had two assists for the Quakes (7-5-4), the first on a well-placed cross that Wondolowski smashed into the net in the 28th minute for a 1-1 tie. Wondolowski is second the MLS goal race, three behind Columbus’ Kei Kamara.
