Update: This is the only regular-season game between these interconference rivals, with D.C. United in first place in the Eastern Conference and the Galaxy fourth in the West. In their only match last year, the teams played to a 2-2 tie at RFK Stadium in Washington, and the Galaxy has a nine-game unbeaten streak again D.C. United (four wins and five ties). The Galaxy is coming off a 2-0 victory over the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps last Saturday, when Landon Donovan and Marcelo Sarvas scored. D.C. United most recently defeated Sporting Kansas City, 3-0.
