Update: This sold-out match is the last regular-season home game for the Galaxy and the final one for its star forward, Landon Donovan, who plans to retire after this season. With the Galaxy and Seattle tied for first place in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference with 60 points and with both having clinched playoff berths, this game will help determine the teams’ seedings in the postseason. Also at stake is the MLS Supporters’ Shield that’s awarded to the club with the best regular-season record. The teams will finish the regular season Saturday in Seattle. The Galaxy won the first matchup this season, 3-0, on July 28 at CenturyLink Field, and the Galaxy has not lost at home to Seattle in the last five years. The Galaxy urged fans to arrive early because Donovan — who holds MLS career records for goals (144) and assists (136) — will be honored with an on-field ceremony before the match.
