San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green sorry for Holocaust ‘LOL’ selfie
San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green apologized on Twitter for a selfie taken at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.
San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green apologized on Twitter on Wednesday for a selfie taken at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin that he posted on social media with “lol” in the caption.
Green has since deleted the picture with the memorial in the background, which was captioned: “You know I had to do it one time lol #Holocaust.”
For those who aren’t familiar with the digital shorthand, “lol” stands for “laugh out loud.”
His apology came in four tweets.
“Yes, mistakes do happen. I want to sincerely apologize for the insensitivity of my post! I have great respect n understanding for this country’s history n wanted to continue chronicling my experience in Berlin. But showed poor judgement...sorry once again.”
The Spurs began the 2014 preseason Wednesday in Germany.
NBA officials declined to comment on the incident.
