Galaxy reminds Los Angeles FC who owns soccer in this town
The new Los Angeles Football Club, which made big headlines over the weekend with its plan to construct the country’s most expensive privately financed soccer stadium on the site of the Sports Arena, got a reminder Monday that it won’t be the only soccer team in town. And that the one that is here has won multiple titles.
Posters popped up around the Sports Arena on Monday that say, “First to Five. Second to None. Homegrown. L.A.’s Soccer Club Since 1996” with a picture of a Galaxy player (which is different on each poster).
The Galaxy has won five MLS titles since beginning play in 1996.
The new Los Angeles FC will make its debut in 2018.
