Can money buy you a World Series title in Major League Baseball? The Dodgers and New York Yankees certainly hope so, because if it does they’ll be meeting in the 2013 World Series.

You can check out the player salaries on both teams, as well as the player salaries for the other 28 teams, in a new Times interactive graphic.

The new graphic allows you to see the payrolls and individual players salaries for all 30 teams. You can click two teams to compare the salaries by position and by players. We also give you a list of the highest-paid players in the game.

The Yankees had Major League Baseball’s top payroll every year from 2001 through last season, but won only one World Series in that span. And of the 10 teams with the highest payrolls last season, five did not even make the playoffs.
