‘Jeopardy’ takes a shot at Barry Bonds
The writers for the TV game show “Jeopardy” earned their pay this week with a subtle shot at Barry Bonds.
One of the categories on Wednesday night’s show was “Pop Quiz,” which was about famous fathers and sons. The $1,000 answer, as read by host Alex Trebek, was: “He fathered baseball star Barry Bonds.” But if you looked at the game screen, you saw “He fathered baseball * Barry Bonds.”
Putting an asterisk next to the name of baseball’s all-time home run leader? Well done, Jeopardy writers.
