The Angels have hired former big league catcher Mark Parent, who spent the last four seasons as the Chicago White Sox’s bench coach under Robin Ventura, as their manager at double-A Arkansas, the team announced on Monday.

Parent, 54, played parts of 13 seasons with seven teams from 1986-98. He will be joined at Arkansas by new pitching coach Scott Budner, who previously coached in the Oakland and Seattle organizations, and hitting coach Brent Del Chiaro, who was promoted from Class-A Inland Empire.

Keith Johnson, who spent the second half of 2015 as the Angels’ player information coach, will return to triple-A Salt Lake as manager. Erik Bennett returns as the Bees’ pitching coach, and the team’s new hitting coach is Tom Tornincasa, who was promoted from Arkansas.

Former big league infielder Chad Tracy will manage at Inland Empire, and his staff will include former big league right-hander Michael Wuertz (pitching coach) and Ryan Barba (hitting coach).

Former big league infielder Adam Melhuse will manage at Class-A Burlington (Iowa), and his staff will include pitching coach Jairo Cuevas and hitting coach Buck Coats. Dave Stapleton will return to manage the rookie-league team at Orem, Utah.

There are two familiar names among the team’s staff. Jack Howell, who played third base for the Angels from 1985-91, is returning to the organization as minor league field coordinator, and former big league catcher Jose Molina, who played seven years with the Angels, will be the new catching coordinator.

Former major league infielder Denny Hocking is moving from Inland Empire manager to minor league infield coordinator, and Johnny Narron is moving from triple-A hitting coach to minor league hitting coordinator. Jim Gott (pitching) and Ty Boykin (outfield, base-running, bunting) are returning as coodinators.
