Scariest Halloween costume: New Orleans Pelicans reveal mascot

Recreational and Sporting Goods IndustryHalloweenAllen Iverson

The New Orleans Pelicans have unveiled their new mascot.

His name is “Pierre the Pelican,” but some critics think he resembles a feathered version of "Chucky." Pierre replaces sweet "Hugo The Hornet" following the NBA team's name change in April.

Pierre has a freakishly large red beak that's wide open as if he's about to eat you and his eyes seem slightly crazed.

Here's some reaction around Twitter to Pierre.

The Pelicans mascot looks like a cross between Howard the Duck and the clowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

The Pelicans mascot looks like what a bird looks like after someone who's been to mardi gras throws up on it.
