The Elias Sports Bureau has been busy with all things Martin Jones since the Kings' rookie goaltender made his first start earlier this month.
In fact, the way things are going, Elias might have to start a separate Martin Jones category.
Jones is one victory away from tying the NHL record for consecutive games won to start an NHL career, which is held by Bob Froese, who won his first eight games with the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1982-83 season.
The Kings have duly supplied that information in their notes packages, of late. On top of that, the diligent folks over at Elias issued an update to that note, a clarification on Friday.
Jones is 7-0-0 with a goals-against average of 0.85 and a save percentage of .971.
Anyhow, beyond all the numbers and historical perspective, the video clips are worth savoring. Worth at least one more look is the incredible sprawling grab Jones made on the line, above, stopping San Jose's Tommy Wingels late in the second period of Thursday's 4-1 victory.
