Cal State Fullerton’s Football Team Will Be On the Road Again in ’87, ’88

Cal State Fullerton--which has to be Willie Nelson’s favorite football team--will be on the road again in 1987 and ’88. The Travelin’ Titans announced their nonconference schedules for those seasons Wednesday and eight of the nine games will be on their opponents’ home turf.

Fullerton, which can’t afford to draw quality opponents to Santa Ana Stadium and can use the money generated by road games, will play at Wichita State both years and will travel to LSU in 1987 and West Virginia in 1988.

The Titans’ 1987-88 nonconference schedules:

1987--at Northern Illinois (Sept. 5); at LSU (Sept. 12); at Hawaii (Sept. 19); at Wichita St. (Oct. 24); Montana (Nov. 21).
