COLLEGE FOOTBALL / BOWL GAMES REPORT : COPPER : Indiana Suspends Starting Center Mack
Associated Press
Indiana Coach Bill Mallory said center Jason Mack has been suspended for violating a team rule and won’t play in the Copper Bowl on Tuesday at Tucson.
“It’s strictly an in-house situation. It’s one of those unfortunate situations, but we learn from these mistakes,” Mallory said.
Mallory said Rod Carey, a 6-6, 265-pound sophomore, will start in Mack’s place against Baylor.
Mack, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound junior, started the last 21 games at center for the Hoosiers.
