Benedetti, Bartlett Lead Rapids

Scott Benedetti and Shaun Bartlett scored Wednesday night as the Colorado Rapids (9-12) defeated the New England Revolution, 2-0, before 6,236 at Denver.

Benedetti scored 14 minutes into the second half off a pass from Jean Harbor. Bartlett picked up a 45-yard pass from Chris Henderson in the 73rd minute and lobbed the ball over goalkeeper Jim St. Andre.

Before the game, the Revolution (9-9) acquired Joe-Max Moore, a forward and midfielder for the U.S. national team, who played collegiately at UCLA and the last two seasons in Germany.

New York/New Jersey 1, San Jose 0--Rob Johnson scored in the 29th minute and Tony Meola recorded his league-leading sixth shutout as the MetroStars (9-10) beat the Clash (10-8) at San Jose.

Tab Ramos assisted on the goal in front of 15,096.
