Zodiac Defeats San Diego, 2-1

The Zodiac ended its regular season with a 2-1 victory over the San Diego Flash in an A-League soccer game Sunday at UC Irvine.

Steve Patterson and Brad Wilson, who assisted on a goal, scored for the Zodiac (16-12), which is going to the playoffs. The victory ends the Flash’s nine-game winning steak.

Mario Sanchez and Shawn Saunders assisted on Wilson’s goal. Brad Smith scored for the Flash.

The Flash (20-7) had already clinched the Pacific Division and is the top-seeded team going into the playoffs, which start Saturday.
