Boys’ basketball: Etiwanda holds off Chino Hills, 65-63

Etiwanda improved to 10-0 and won the championship game of the Inland Empire Classic with a 65-63 victory over Chino Hills on Saturday night.

Kameron Edwards scored 20 points and tournament MVP Jordan McLaughlin had 18 points. Freshman Gelo Ball of Chino Hills finished with 27 points and brother Lonzo Ball had 14.

Unbeaten Mater Dei won its division championship of the Tarkanian tournament in Las Vegas with a 63-59 overtime win over Bishop O’Dowd. Stanley Johnson had 25 points and eight rebounds.

Unbeaten Bishop Montgomery won the Mission Prep tournament with a 61-44 win over Crespi in the championship game. Justin Bibbins was named tournament MVP.

Corona Centennial won the championship in Sacramento, defeating Capitol Christian, 69-66. Deontae North was tournament MVP and finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds.

St. Francis won the La Canada tournament with a 47-45 win over Mark Keppel. Kyle Leufroy was tournament MVP.

Sonora (9-2) won the North Orange County championship, handing Anaheim Canyon its first defeat, 58-55. Ben Rico was tournament MVP.

Campbell Hall defeated Sylmar, 65-62. Aaron Holiday had 26 points and Kahlil Simplis had 23 points.

Damien defeated Los Alamitos, 53-48. Jeremy Hemsley had 21 points and Malik Fitts 20.

El Camino Real lost to Lone Peak, 63-45. Victor Joseph scored 26 points in Rancho Cucamonga’s 69-49 win over Los Osos.

In Florida, St. John Bosco defeated Denver East, 75-65. Tyler Dorsey scored 26 points.
