NFL Sunday night spotlight: Steelers vs. Ravens
Baltimore Ravens (7-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)
Time: 5:30 p.m. TV: Channel 4
Story line: Something has to give with Baltimore riding an 11-game winning streak in the AFC North, and the Steelers a resilient 4-0 at home this season. Maybe something already has given, and that would be the dislocated rib keeping Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger out, leaving the reins in the hands of Leftwich, who hasn’t won a start since 2006. Baltimore QB Joe Flacco was dominant last week vs. Raiders.
Ravens said: “It’s definitely going to be different, a different feel. But once that whistle blows and the bullets become live, I don’t expect anything less than traditional Ravens-Steelers.” — Terrell Suggs, linebacker
Steelers said: “I’m not going to run around, make two, three guys miss, roll all the way to the left and find Mike Wallace in the back of the end zone. But what I can do is get the ball in the right people’s hands and just be myself.” — Leftwich
Bottom line: Baltimore is favored by 3.5 points. The over/under is 40. … Statistically, this is a kind matchup for Leftwich, with the Ravens ranking 26th against the pass with just 16 sacks. … The Ravens have won their last two games at Heinz Field. … The longest active streak of starts by an NFL RB is the 35 by Ravens’ Ray Rice.
