Arkansas fan’s video message could inspire BCS comeback

Share

It was a tough weekend for Arkansas football, as the Razorbacks fell from No. 8 out of the top 25 following a shocking overtime loss to Louisiana Monroe.

Not everyone is giving up on the Hogs, though, as this heart-felt video is sure to pig-nose inspire the school as it prepares to host No.1 Alabama this week.

Did Saturday’s loss kill Arkansas’ national title dreams?

Never!

No league rallies around its own like the Southeastern Conference. Should Arkansas somehow rally to win the rest of its games, you can rest assured the SEC will mount a convincing defense.

In 2006, the SEC argued against a Ohio State-Michigan rematch in the title game and made the case for Florida, which sneaked into the title game and won it.

Last year, the SEC argued FOR an Alabama-LSU rematch because, after all, Oklahoma State had lost to unranked Iowa State.

It will be tough for Arkansas to overcome the damaging loss to Louisiana Monroe, but it can be done. If Arkansas upsets top-ranked Alabama, the Razorbacks could get back into the top 10 a week after it dropped out.

Running the table in the SEC would mean Arkansas would have defeated Alabama, LSU, South Carolina and the SEC East champion in the conference title game.

How could the undefeated champion of the SEC be denied a spot in the BCS championship?

OK, so Arkansas had one bad game.

Wait a minute, though: Oklahoma State only had one bad game last year.

Hey, that was different.

Oklahoma State wasn’t in the SEC.
