UCLA football: Tackle Conor McDermott lost for season after surgery
UCLA tackle Conor McDermott underwent surgery Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season.
McDermott, a redshirt freshman, separated his shoulder against Stanford on Oct. 19. A later examination revealed a broken bone.
Injuries have left the Bruins thin at tackle. Torian White was lost for the season after breaking his leg against Utah. Simon Goines has missed the last two games because of a knee injury. That has forced guard Xavier Su’a-Filo to move to tackle.
McDermott is expected to be ready for spring practice.
