Rose Siggins, an actor known for her role as Legless Suzi on FX’s “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” has died, according to a statement from the network.

Siggins, 43, died Saturday at a hospital in Denver, said E! News, which added that the actor had suffered complications from kidney stone surgery. She had two children, according to a biography on her website.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Rose Siggins,” FX said in its statement. “She was beloved by everyone in the AHS family. She was a kind person, a loving mother and a very talented actor. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.”

Siggins wrote on her website that she was born with sacral agenesis, a genetic disorder involving the spine. When she was two years old, her legs were amputated, and she often used a skateboard to get around.

“In the ‘70s, when I was born, the medical idea was, if it doesn’t work, take it away,” Siggins said in a video promoting “American Horror Story.” “Now today we find out, if it doesn’t work, keep it. I don’t know. I kind of like the way I am; I would never change it.

“I couldn’t imagine myself being -- I guess what everybody called ‘normal,’ because this is my normal.”

Prior to “American Horror Story,” Siggins appeared in documentaries such as “Extraordinary People” and “Born Different: Unbelievable Medical Conditions,” according to her IMDb profile.

On Twitter, Siggins’ “American Horror Story” castmate Sarah Paulson wrote that the actor “was an absolute light” and said she would “never forget [her] laugh or [her] beautiful eyes.”
