The Clippers’ pitch to Kevin Durant will be among the first the superstar forward hears in free agency.

Durant is scheduled to meet with a contingent of Clippers officials in the Hamptons on Long Island, N.Y., on Friday, the same day he is expected to meet with representatives of the Golden State Warriors. Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ coach and president of basketball operations, team owner Steve Ballmer and other key basketball executives will be the ones wooing Durant, with ESPN reporting that star players Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan have also been invited to attend.

Durant’s one meeting Thursday is with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the only NBA team he has known since being drafted second overall in 2007.

He’s reportedly slated to meet with the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics on Saturday, followed by the Miami Heat on Sunday. The Thunder may also meet with Durant a second time in the Hamptons, according to ESPN.

The Clippers will lay out several possible scenarios for Durant, including one that would involve the creation of a Big Four with Durant alongside the team’s current trio of stars. That roster would be incredibly top-heavy, though, and would necessitate the Clippers trading shooting guard J.J. Redick and renouncing the cap holds on all of their free agents and draft picks, likely leading to a far lesser supporting cast.

A more well-rounded roster could be created by getting the Thunder to help facilitate a sign-and-trade agreement involving Durant and Griffin, an Oklahoma City native, or acquiring Durant outright while trading one of the Clippers’ stars to provide more financial flexibility to fill out the roster.

The Clippers are also expected to reach out to the bulk of their own free agents once the free agency period officially starts at 9:01 p.m. PDT Thursday. The lengthy list of players the team wants to keep includes Jamal Crawford, Jeff Green, Austin Rivers, Cole Aldrich, Luc Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson.
