Baseball: Top juniors set to play next weekend at Pepperdine

The Southwest Futures All Star Series is set for next Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14, at Pepperdine. It features top baseball players from the class of 2016.

Games are noon and 4 p.m. on June 13 and the championship game is 4 p.m. on June 14.

Among the players scheduled to participate are pitcher Connor Cannon from Vista Murrieta, outfielder Joey Dawes from Agoura, shortstop Issak Gutierrez of St. John Bosco, catcher Nick Kahle from Chaminade, first baseman Brandon Lewis of Alemany, pitcher Grant Nechak from Calabasas, pitcher Zack Noll from Great Oak, second baseman Andrew Renteria from Chatsworth and pitcher Frankie Tostado from Camarillo.

There's more than 60 players selected from across the Southland.
