Boys’ basketball: Chino Hills rolls to 93-68 win over Roosevelt

Junior guard Jemarl Baker did his best to challenge Chino Hills and the Ball brothers on Wednesday night, making six three-pointers in the first quarter and finishing with 30 points for Eastvale Roosevelt.

But Chino Hills (2-0) still took control and came away with a 93-68 victory in the Corona Centennial tournament. LiAngelo Ball had 29 points and Lonzo Ball added 18 points, 17 assists and 17 rebounds.

Foothills Christian knocked off Corona Centennial, 69-61. UCLA-bound T.J. Leaf finished with 30 points.

Village Christian improved to 2-0 in the Burbank tournament with a 79-46 win over Glendale. Majur Majak, a 7-foot-1 sophomore center, had 13 points and 16 rebounds. Dama Diagouraga finished with 17 points.

In Arizona, St. Francis lost in the debut of new Coach Todd Wolfson, falling to Gilbert Christian, 68-59. Brett Gangi had 17 points.

In the El Segundo tournament, Loyola defeated El Segundo, 80-42. Josh Lavergne had 14 points for the Cubs (2-0). Fairfax (2-0) defeated Lakewood, 80-48. Babacar Thiombane and Antoine Monroe each had 20 points. Ethan Anderson added 14 points.

In the St. Monia tournament, Birmingham defeated Hamilton, 62-53. Adrian Byrd-Jelinek had 20 points. La Salle defeated Crossroads, 69-67, with Christian Little scoring 24 points.

In the Maranatha tournament, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated Price, 74-57. Chibueze Jacobs fiished with 24 points.

Cleveland improved to 4-0 with a 57-50 win over Reseda. Wayne Currie had 19 points.

Simi Valley defeated Saugus, 88-57. Kaden Young had 23 points, including five three-pointers.

Santa Margarita defeated St. Mary’s, 71-50. Kaden Rasheed finished with 17 points. JSerra defeated Mission Viejo, 62-60. Chris Meyer had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Mission Viejo. Foothill defeated Long Beach Wilson, 65-37. Lucas Araujo had 18 points for Foothill.

La Mirada defeated Northwood, 65-63. Ian Carter scored 18 points and Redwick Helaire added 17 points, including the game-winning basket. Cameron Griffin scored 24 points in Servite’s 58-46 win over Paramount.

Orange Lutheran defeated Laguna Hills, 73-46. Chris Williams had 15 points and Zac Jervis 13.

In the San Dimas tournament, Rancho Cucamonga defeated Alta Loma, 54-43. Toby Okwuoki had 23 points.

Tarbut V’Torah improved to 3-0 with a 62-16 win over Liberty Christian. Brandon Averitt had 19 points.

Flintridge Prep defeated Bernstein, 67-58. Dante Fregoso had 30 points. Andrew Tsangeos had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

San Marino defeated Pilibos, 75-46. Sophomore Chuma Azinge had 27 points.
