Football: Hart QB Brady White is ready for his best season

Share

After passing for 4,534 yards and 41 touchdowns as a junior, Hart quarterback Brady White might be hard pressed to equal or top those numbers.

Whether it happens or not, White is clearly a better player.

“He’s matured mentally and physically,” Coach Mike Herrington said.

Perhaps the biggest challenge for White, an Arizona State commit, won’t come until week 10 when the Indians face rival Valencia. White has been intercepted eight times against the Vikings over the last two seasons and is 1-2.

“We’ve thought a little of it, but that’s game 10,” Herrington said. “Hopefully, mental errors are out the door.”

Hart is trying to develop a running game with junior Nelson James and sophomore Charles Ike to hep the passing game even more. Hart will need to score lots of points early on, because the defense could struggle with inexperienced players at linebacker and on the defensive line.

Hart is scheduled to hold an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday morning at 8:30 and play a scrimmage against Alemany next Friday night.

White’s brother, Brevin, a freshman, plays for Alemany. That could cause some family attire issues and trash talking in the White household.
