Football: JSerra tries to stay focused on Orange Lutheran

Share

There’s already talk that JSerra, coming off its historic win over Mater Dei, is going to overlook Orange Lutheran on Thursday night in a Trinity League game at Orange Coast College.

The Lions won’t fall into the trap, not with senior quarterback Nick Robinson around. The players understand that they have to keep winning to earn a Pac-5 Division playoff berth. Here’s the link to Robinson’s highlights from last week’s win over Mater Dei.

Of course, Orange Lutheran is no easy opponent. Even though the Lancers are 0-3 in league, in each game, they could have won. They lost to Servite, 28-25. They lost to Santa Margarita, 42-41. They lost to St. John Bosco, 54-43.

L.J. Northington, a junior quarteback, has passed for 1,183 yards and rushed for 387 yards and eight touchdowns.

Another wild week of Trinity League action is expected. St. John Bosco is playing Servite on Friday night at Cerritos College and Mater Dei is playing Santa Margarita on Friday at Santa Ana Stadium.
