GALAXY AT COLUMBUS CREW

When: 4:30 p.m. PDT.

Where: Crew Stadium, Columbus, Ohio.

On the air: TV: TWC, TWC Deportes; Radio: 1150, 1330.

Records: Galaxy 9-4-7, Columbus 6-8-9.

Record vs. Columbus (2013): 1-0.

Update: Already one of the hottest teams in Major League Soccer, the Galaxy got a little better this week with the return of forward Alan Gordon, a former first-round draft pick reacquired from San Jose for allocation money. The Galaxy has lost just once in MLS play since mid-May — or since Landon Donovan was cut from the U.S. national team. But while the team has league lows for losses (four) and goals allowed (19) it is only fourth in the Western Conference standings, protecting a slim four-point lead over Colorado and Portland for the final playoff spot. The Crew, meanwhile, stands just outside the Eastern Conference’s five playoff spots on goal differential and is locked in a tight race in which five teams are separated by three points with 11 games to play.
