This figures to be a busy week for Michael Phelps.

The most-decorated athlete in Olympic history -- returning from a six-month suspension -- is expected to race in five events at an Arizona meet that begins on Wednesday.

The schedule for the Arena Pro Swim Series in Mesa has Phelps competing in the 100-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter individual medley and 400-meter freestyle over the course of three days.

That’s good news for swim fans because it sets up a number of showdowns with rival Ryan Lochte.

USA Swimming officials suspended Phelps after his DUI arrest in Baltimore last fall. They also banned him from the American team headed for the world championships in Russia this summer but could rescind that part of the punishment.

Phelps, who had previously come back from retirement, has yet to confirm that he will try for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
