Galaxy places three players on MLS All-Star roster

The Galaxy’s Robbie Keane, Omar Gonzalez and Steven Gerrard were among the 22 players on the roster for the Major League Soccer All-Star game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Six are playing for the United States in the Gold Cup: Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, DaMarcus Beasley, Gonzalez, Graham Zusi and Nick Rimando.

Keane and Dempsey have both played for Tottenham Hotspur.

Current MLS goals leader Kei Kamara also made the roster for the July 29 game in Commerce City, Colo. Other players on the All-Star team include Sebastian Giovinco, Kaka and David Villa.

All-Star coach Pablo Mastroeni took into consideration fan and player voting in selecting 20 of the players announced Saturday.

There also were also two commissioner’s picks, adding the star power of former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
