Chief Honcho Wins at Aqueduct
Chief Honcho, the favorite in the six-horse field, breezed to a 4 3/4-length victory over I’m Sky High in Aqueduct’s $170,100 Excelsior Handicap Saturday.
Chief Honcho covered 1 1/4 miles in 2:02 3/5 for his second victory in four starts this year. I’m Sky High finished 1 1/4 lengths ahead of Apple Current.
Expressive Dance, the 4-year-old Virginia-bred son of Chief’s Crown from the Riva Ridge mare, earned $102,060 and returned $4.80, $3.40, and $2.20. I’m Sky High paid $5.80 and $3.40 and Apple Current $3.
