COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NATION : Miami Quarterback Pleads No Contest
Associated Press
Miami Hurricane quarterback Frank Costa pleaded no contest to a drunken-driving charge and received the minimum mandatory sentence, including a six-month suspension of his driver’s license.
Costa’s fine and court costs totaled $583. Dade County Judge Jose Rodriguez’s sentence also calls for Costa to perform 50 hours of community service, spend six months on probation and attend programs on drunken driving.
Coach Dennis Erickson declined to discuss any disciplinary action against Costa, who is expected to start the season opener against Georgia Southern on Sept. 3.
