Burleson Suspended Two Games

Share

Lancaster Manager Rick Burleson will be suspended for games July 31 and Aug. 1 because of a bumping altercation with umpire Ryan Bleiberg on July 18 in Modesto.

Burleson was ejected for verbally haranguing Bleiberg throughout the game. After being ejected, he came onto the field and shoved Bleiberg.

Bleiberg, who lives in Simi Valley, also was disciplined, although a California League spokesman would not divulge the nature of the penalty.

The ejection was Burleson’s second this season.
